Santa Barbara appoints Sarah Knecht as City Attorney

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City Council has officially appointed Sarah Knecht as City Attorney during a special council meeting on Dec. 13.

Knecht has been acting City Attorney since August and originally joined the City Attorney's office in 2004.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the talented team in the City Attorney’s Office as well as the dedicated City staff to ensure that we continue to deliver superior public service,” the new City Attorney of Santa Barbara said.

Sarah Knecht was born in Boulder, Colorado and has practiced public law since 1988. She moved to Santa Barbara in 1996.
