Unannounced ballistic missile test launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. - A previously unannounced launch was conducted by the Department of Defense Thursday morning from Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Base officials confirming a flight test of a "conventionally configured ground launched ballistic missile" at 8:30 a.m.
Several calls to our newsroom reported seeing the contrail from missile launch. One woman told us her home rattled and she ran outside to see what had happened.
Due to this morning's launch, Amtrak service was paused in the area.
Why today's launch was keep private and if the launch was in response to anything from around the world is not being released.
