Work continues on the North Chorro Neighborhood Greenway in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Work will continue on the North Chorro Neighborhood Greenway over the week, according to the City of San Luis Obispo.
Organizers said speed tables and speed humps will be added on Ramona Drive, Broad Street and Ferrini Road. This work will cause closures and detours in that area which will impact commuters, however, pedestrians will still have access to sidewalks in that area.
Another part of the project will see the installation of additional bike medians along the the newly developed Greenway route on Chorro Street between Center and Lincoln Streets.
In addition to the Chorro Neighborhood Greenway project, The City of San Luis Obispo said "We are beautifying Highway 101 underpass on Chorro Street starting this week. This portion of the project includes the addition of new trees, shrubs, boulders, a chain-link fence, and an irrigation system. Commuters can expect a one-lane closure in the area along with a sidewalk closure."
The city said it wants to remind commuters to allow extra time while driving in areas that are undergoing construction and always reduce your speed when driving through construction zones.
