One person dead in single vehicle crash on Highway 41 in Atascadero

ATASCADERO, Calif. – One person is dead following an early morning crash on Highway 41 in Atascadero.

It happened around 6:13 a.m. Tuesday.

First responders arrived at the scene and found one car involved in the crash along the highway near Old Morro Road.

Investigators haven't released the name of the driver who was killed.

Police said the driver was traveling westbound on Highway 41 when for some reason, the car went off the road and collided with a tree.
