Grover Beach’s city council appoints Clint Weirick as District 4 member on Jan. 23
GROVER BEACH, Calif. – The City Council of Grover Beach unanimously appointed Clint Weirick as its District 4 City Council Member on Jan. 23, filling the vacancy left by Mayor Karen Bright during the November 2022 municipal elections.
In December of 2022, the Grover Beach City Council decided to fill the member vacancy by appointment instead of a special election for the newly formed District 4.
All eligible Grover Beach District 4 residents were invited to apply to serve the remaining term and four applicants were interviewed for the position with Weirick ultimately selected.
“Mr. Weirick comes to the Council with extensive experience in state, county and city government. He has an understanding of how to support our thriving community while working within the limitations of our budget,” said Grover Beach Mayor Karen Bright.
Weirick was born and raised in Grover Beach and is a member of the Grover City Grange #746, the friends of Grover Beach Library and the Grover Heights Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association.
"I’ve seen the diversity of white collar and blue collar workers that make this City great,” said Council Member Clint Weirick. “The depth and breadth of my experience serving the community provides me with the background in local government to hit the ground running."
