Congressman Salud Carbajal tours SLO County flood damage

MORRO BAY, Calif.- Congressman Salud Carbajal visited Morro Bay and Los Osos to check out the effects of the recent storm.

In Morro Bay he met with business owners on main street one of the hardest hit areas in town.

He also visited the Vista Court neighborhood in Los Osos where residents suffered through flooding, mudslides and power outages.

"Tragic devastation from the storms that we just experienced. I went to a business in Morro Bay. I’m here looking at residences and meeting with individuals who suffered significant water damage in the mud and debris that hasn’t intruded into their homes they’re just devastated," said Congressman Salud Carbajal.

Carbajal shared what the federal government is doing along with state and local government partners for those affected by the rainstorm.

"Now the president has issued a major disaster declaration which is another decoration as needed but it’s going to continue to include more counties as they make assessments and we’re hoping I’m waiting that San Luis Obispo County will be added in included in the very near future," said Salud Carbajal.
