Grounded sailboat saved by Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol crew responded quickly to a grounded sailboat Saturday west of the breakwater wall.

The vessel Kestrel came ashore in front of the Yacht Club about 5 p.m.

The crew was able to get into the water with a tow line as the patrol boat pulled up.

Santa Barbara City Fire was also on the scene but there were no injuries.

The patrol boat hooked up the line and towed the vessel back out. The cause of the incident is unknown.

The vessel was not said to have significant damage.

No other information has been released.
