Vehicle goes out of control into Ralphs store wall near Goleta

Near GOLETA, Calif. - A BMW sedan was badly damaged when the driver lost control and hit the wall of a Ralphs store near Goleta this afternoon.

It happened about 2:20 p.m. at 5170 Hollister Avenue west of Turnpike.

An elderly driver was being treated by AMR medics on the scene, but no serious injuries were reported.

The front end of the car was smashed in.

There was damage to a bike rack at the site too.

It's unknown why the car went from a front row parking spot, over the curb and into the store wall.

Santa Barbara County Fire and the California Highway Patrol were on scene as part of the response.

The store did not close due to the incident.
