SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) – The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) is celebrating 60 years.

It's not an agency that is as known as city councils and county supervisors, but it is made up of leaders from all of those government agencies.

A video released at their meeting today showed the years of collaboration between the various areas of the county and some of the successful projects.

SBCAG has allocated state and federal funds for highway improvements, bike lanes and regional transportation changes to given residents reliable options.

Currently the SBCAG name comes up often in the Highway 101 widening project and expanded train service choices to reduce congestion on the freeway.

At today's meeting, many honors were presented to the current board and congratulations came from politicians and community leaders.
