Oxnard police investigate 8th homicide of 2020 after man is shot in head

OXNARD, Calif. - Police in Oxnard are investigating a deadly shooting on the 600 block of Rubens Place.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Police responded to shots fired around 11:35 p.m. Wednesday and found the man. He's only being identified as a 26-year-old man from Los Angeles. Emergency medical personnel tried to resuscitate him, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Major Crimes investigators are asking for the public's help with any information that could lead to an arrest.

This is Oxnard's eighth homicide in 2020.
