VENTURA, Calif. - A 19-year-old Oxnard man has been charged with murder for the January 26 stabbing death of a Port Hueneme man.

Librado Ruiz Rojo appeared in court in Ventura Tuesday to be formally charged with the crime.

Ruiz Rojo is accused of stabbing and killing 24-year-old Carlos Murillo on Jan. 26 in Oxnard. Police found Murillo on the 3000 block of Sycamore Street just after midnight. He was stabbed multiple times and was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the stabbing, but police have said they do not suspect it to be gang-motivated.

Rojo appeared in court Tuesday for his arraignment. His arraignment was continued to March 6.

Rojo is currently in custody with bail set at $500,000.
