Oxnard man arrested in connection to deadly stabbing
OXNARD, Calif. - An Oxnard man was arrested for the stabbing death of a Port Hueneme man.
Librado Ruiz Rojo, 19, of Oxnard was arrested in connection to the death of 24-year-old Carlos Alberto Murillo who was found on the 3200 block of Sycamore Street on Jan. 26, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Paramedics rendered aid, but he died at the scene from his injuries.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit worked with other local agencies to determine a suspect.
During the investigation, detectives gathered enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for Librado Ruiz Rojo. He was arrested on a warrant for murder and was booked into the Ventura County Jail where he awaits charges on a $500,000 bail.
Investigators do not believe the crime was gang-motivated and they are continuing to look at possible motives.
Police are asking anyone who may have any security footage from the area of the incident to submit any images to the police department. Police say uploader information is not stored and anyone who uploads footage can remain anonymous.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Oxnard Police Detective Jeff Kay at 805-385-8174. The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for committing murder in the city.
