SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A surveillance camera captured the moment two people were hit by a car near the Performing Arts Center on Cal Poly's campus earlier this month.

The university says Cal Poly police received a call on the evening of January 18 about a possible hit-and-run near the PAC.

An 18-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were hit by a car and hospitalized with moderate injuries, according to Cal Poly spokesman Matt Lazier.

Police say they investigated and eventually located the driver, who they identified as Corban B. Kinloch, 20.

He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on hit-and-run charges.

Cal Poly's student-run news organization, Mustang News, obtained video of the crash and shared it with our newsroom.

It was taken from a camera that provides a live stream of the Vista Grande dining complex construction project, which is just across the street from the PAC.

The video shows two people crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when they're hit by a car. The car does not stop and continues driving out of view of the camera.
