Santa Maria police: victims in murder-suicide were husband and wife

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Santa Maria police released new details about Thursday’s apparent murder-suicide.

Detectives now say the people who died were a husband and wife.

Police were first called to the home in the 800 block of West Creston Street around 3 p.m.

Officers have not released what led up to the incident, but say a gun was used.

They say each victim had one gunshot wound.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims right now.

They say there are no signs of foul play.

Santa Maria police add that there is no threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
