OXNARD, Calif. - Oxnard Police are searching for one suspect who fled the scene of a single-vehicle collision after the car attempted to evade a traffic stop.

Police attempted to stop the silver sedan around 8 p.m. Monday evening, but the car fled. Police pursued the car down Gonzales Road.

During the chase, the vehicle failed to make a turn on Patterson Road and veered into a ditch off the side of the road.

The four occupants from the vehicle fled the car on foot. Three were quickly detained by police.

Officers are still searching for the fourth suspect. They said he may have ran along the drainage canal heading east, but police are not planning to pursue him at this time.

Police do not consider him dangerous, but a weapon was recovered outside of the vehicle.

Oxnard Fire said no one was injured in the crash.

This is an ongoing investigation. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
