Rebuilding Underway One Year After Mountain Fire in Ventura County

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) - One year ago today, November 6, 2024, the Mountain Fire erupted near Balcom Canyon Road in Ventura County.

It scorched 19,904 acres and destroyed 243 structures, including nearly 190 homes in Camarillo and Somis.

Several people were injured as fierce winds fueled the blaze through the foothills.

Now, debris removal is complete on 133 properties, and rebuilding is underway.
