Propeller plane crashes onto a Texas highway, sending 4 people to hospitals

KEYT

VICTORIA, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a twin-engine propeller plane has crashed onto a Texas highway and split in two, damaging cars and sending four people to hospitals. The Federal Aviation Administration says the only person aboard the small Piper plane Wednesday afternoon was the pilot. Victoria Police Deputy Chief Eline Moya says three people had non-life threatening injuries, one was taken to an out-of-town hospital for higher-level treatment, and the pilot was being evaluated. A videotaped police statement on Facebook said three vehicles were damaged, and images showed part of the plane’s wreckage resting atop a damaged car. The crash occurred on a highway in Victoria, about 150 miles southwest of Houston.
