Cottage Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic accepting new patients in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Doctors at Cottage Health are excited about the opening of the new OB/GYN clinic in Santa Barbara.

"We started seeing patients … and so far it’s going rather smoothly … more so than expected … we’ve done this because there was a real need … it’s just not been adequately taken care of in this community for a while," said medical director Dr. Lisa Lepine of the new Cottage OB/GYN Clinic.

The new clinic will create additional access to women's healthcare, with a strong focus on a high-quality patient experience.

“It offers complete care related to pregnancy from preconception to prenatal care to postpartum care, and the full range of gynecologic services from adolescence straight through and beyond menopause," said Lepine.

“Whether it’s OB/GYN whether it’s lactation whether it’s pediatricians … there is a need for those services so the more options and opportunities that we can provide for our community the better," said director of nutrition services Susan Liles of the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department.

Doctors are hoping the new clinic will inspire more patients to come in for their routine checkup.

The outpatient specialty clinic will build on Cottage's existing services, and will provide patient-centered care for women at every stage of life.

“I hope we can eventually add midwives … nurse practitioner … PA … and give patients personalized and individualized healthcare experience with regards to both prenatal postnatal and gynecological care," said Lepine.

The new OB/GYN clinic is now accepting new patients.
