Two killed in Goleta multi-vehicle crash

Multi car crash leaves two dead, one injured and leads to the rescue of a driver's dog

GOLETA, Calif.- Two people were killed and one person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Goleta Tuesday evening.

Santa Barbara Sheriff's deputies along with Goleta Police Department responded to the deadly four car incident around 7:30 p.m. near the 5500 block of Cathedral Oaks and Camino Cascada. Emergency crews rescued a dog trapped in one of the cars. The injured person was taken to the hospital. One of the drivers involved in the crash was under the influence of alcohol, police said.


Cathedral Oaks Road was closed between Cambridge and Kellogg in Goleta.

A team with the California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

They photographed the debris strewn across the road.
