Multiple car crash slows morning traffic in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria drivers had a slow Tuesday morning commute on Highway 101 near the Santa Maria Bridge.

A five car crash was reported at 6:07 a.m. Tuesday. An ambulance was called out to the crash as minor injuries were reported.

Cal Trans reported that the right lane on the Santa Maria Bridge was closed because of the crash.

A multi-vehicle accident on northbound #US101 at the Santa Maria River Bridge has closed the No. 3 (right) lane and northbound off-ramp to State Route 135 (Broadway). Expect slowing in this area. Be aware of emergency responders and Caltrans highway workers.@CaltransD5

It was not immediately clear how quickly the crash would be cleared off the road.
