Police looking for suspects after mailboxes are blown up in Lompoc
LOMPOC, Calif. - An explosion rattled the windows of residents living along the 1600 block of West Central Avenue in Lompoc Wednesday night.
Police were called around 10:11 p.m. for reports of an explosion. When they arrived a small debris field was visible and a gas smell was detected. The Lompoc Fire Department responded and no gas leak was found.
Lompoc police say its initial investigation revealed unknown suspects set an unknown explosive device near a row of mailboxes. The mailboxes were damaged in the explosion and nearby commercial buildings had minor damage. No one was hurt.

The Lompoc Police Department is asking for anyone with information to contact them. A member of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad is helping with the investigaton.
