San Luis Obispo police issue phone scam warning
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - San Luis Obispo police are warning the community about a phone scam that claims to involve the police department.
Police say the scammer claimed they were collecting money for a San Luis Obispo Police Department fundraiser.
The person who received the call then called the police department to confirm the information.
Officers say if community members should be cautious if they receive a phone call requesting personal information.
