Inmate missing from Satellite Prison Camp in Lompoc

LOMPOC, Calif. - U.S. Marshals are looking for an inmate who went missing from the Satellite Prison Camp in Lompoc.

Investigators are looking for Daniel Diaz, 27. Prison workers realized he was missing around 10:20 p.m. Saturday.

He's described as a Hispanic male with black hair, brown eyes, 5'11" tall, weighing 200 pounds.

Diaz was originally sentenced in Iowa to 120 months in prison for attempt and conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture of substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, which contained 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine.

The United States Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies were notified afterwards. The prison launched an internal investigation.
