SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - Smoke may be visible along the San Luis Obispo County coast this week, as crews conduct a series of planned burns.

Firefighters will burn piles of brush Wednesday through Friday at Montana de Oro and Hearst San Simeon State Parks.

The pile burns will take place in the eucalyptus forest near the Camp KEEP and the environmental camp sites in Montana de Oro State Park, as well as the pine forest at Hearst San Simeon State Park near the campground.

On Thursday or Friday, firefighters will also burn about 100 acres of grass in Hearst San Simeon State Park, right along Highway 1, San Simeon Creek Road, and Van Gordon Creek Road.

Crews could be out as early as 7 a.m. each day and should be done by 5 p.m.
