SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Public Library's Holiday Book Sale kicked off Monday.

People can buy used books and other items in the lobby of the library now through December 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The library is selling hard and soft-back books for both adults and children. They're already being sold at a low price, but they'll also be sold as "buy one get one free."

Books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, and specialty art books and encyclopedias are available. They'll range in price between 50 cents and $1. All proceeds benefit the library.

The library, which is located at 421 South McClelland Street, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It's closed on Sundays.
