”Wine Stone Inn’ officially open for business in Orcutt

Orcutt’s first hotel, Wine Stone Inn, has officially opened its doors.
Two local farming families came together to make the hotel happen.
The Wine Stone Inn is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony tonight.

“This is the only hotel in Orcutt. So we want this to become is a travel destination for our area.
You look at Los Alamos and Los Olivo’s and how it’s booming. How it’s thriving and creating jobs.
We hope to see that in Orcutt,” said the Wine Stone Inn General Manager Lauren Wise.

The quaint hotel on Clark Avenue offers 12 rooms and a wine cellar for guests and events.

“They have found where there was an area of need that serves both visitors and locals,” said Jennifer Harrison the Director of the Visitors Bureau at the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Local business owners hope the hotel’s opening will bring in tourist dollars.

“I’m super excited to see them open up. All the other business owners here are as well. Another business in Oructt that brings more people, it just benefits all of us,” said Wino et Amici’s owner Kurt Hixenbaugh.

Santa Barbara County will benefit from the occupancy taxes of the new hotel.
The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce says the hotel might attract needed job candidates to the area.

“It’s a huge benefit for the region. As Santa Maria starts to grow and expand and we are out there recruiting high-level executives this is one more area to attract those executives,” said the Economic Development Director of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce Suzanne Singh.

Wine Stone is offering discounts to any fire evacuees and will hold an open house on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
