Police in Grover Beach are actively investigating a bank robbery that occurred Friday morning at the Rabobank in the 800 block of Grand Avenue.

The Grover Beach Police Department tweeted two photos of the suspect taken from a surveillance camera inside the bank. They say the incident happened at about 11:33 a.m. when police received a call of an armed robbery at the bank located at 899 W. Grand Avenue.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his mid-20’s to mid-30’s, bald head, wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, black BDU style pants, black and white tennis shoes, and armed with a handgun. He was last seen driving away west on Grand Avenue toward 4th Street.

Authorities say the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from a teller while brandishing the handgun. A silent alarm was triggered alerting police of the crime.

The suspect received a small amount of money before leaving the bank, according to authorities. Investigators say surveillance cameras captured the suspect’s vehicle described as a blue -colored Infinity sedan, possibly a Q70 model.
