Oxnard police nab suspect in stolen vehicle

The Oxnard Police Department arrested a suspect occupying a stolen vehicle Tuesday morning.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers located an occupied stolen vehicle in the 3700 block of Saviers Road just before 11 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect, 29-year-old Guadalupe Gutierrez-Gomez was arrested at the scene for vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools.

Just last month, Gutierrez-Gomez had been arrested for a theft-related crime, police said.

The Oxnard Police Department is now using “bait cars” throughout the city and social media to lower the instances of stolen vehicles as part of its #NotThisCar! campaign. Authorities urge residents to support suspicious activity to police.
