The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Custody Operations personnel hosted two events to give back to the community.

The Sheriff’s Operations Response Team surprised a group of kids in the Monroe Summer Fun program to a game of flag football on Wednesday, July 25. In the end, the kids beat the Response Team “badly.”

The Sheriff’s Custody and Jail Medical (California Forensic Medical Group) held their first annual charity softball game at Pershing Park in Santa Barbara on Sunday, July 29. All the proceeds were donated to the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation which provides financial assistance as well as educational and emotional support to central coast families that have children diagnosed with cancer.

The Custody and Medical staff raised more than $1,100 that will go towards helping four families during this holiday season.
