Dance dedicated to Las Vegas shooting victim Denise Cohen

World Dance for Humanity is mourning dancer Denise Cohen.

Cohen was one of the victims killed during Jason Aldean’s country music festival performance on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Friends and dance classmates put on an Aldean song and dedicated their practice at their Santa Barbara dance studio to Cohen on Tuesday evening.

“She had a smile that lit up the room, she was the life of the party, ” said Cohen’s friend Leah Combs.

World Dance for Humanity founder Janet Reineck said, “One thing we can do is dance for her and we will dedicate tonight’s class and all of the classes going on to Denise’s memory. It could have been any of us.”

After dancing to one of Cohen’s favorite songs, dancers formed a circle and had a moment of silence.

They also shared hugs and stories about their friend from Carpinteria who is survived by two grown children.
