San Marcos softball advances to its first ever CIF title game

Hailee Rios pitched a complete game and struck out seven as San Marcos won at Beaumont 4-2 to secure the program’s first-ever CIF final appearance.

The Royals scored three first inning runs and held on for the road CIF-SS division 4 semifinal win.

San Marcos will now face a familiar foe in the championship game as they will square off against fellow Channel League opponent Buena.

The Bulldogs are 3-0 against San Marcos this year and have not lost a single game this year going 26-0-1 on the season so far.

The championship game is expected to be in Irvine on either Friday or Saturday. The CIF will announce a time and date on Wednesday.
