Vegetation Fire Reported Off Highway 1 Near Lompoc
A brush fire on Jalama Road, less than a mile from Highway 1, kept firefighters busy just after midnight Sunday.
The blaze was reported at about 12:42 a.m. by witnesses who said they saw trees on fire.
Santa Barbara County and Lompoc City fire crews responded to the scene and discovered a reported 1/2 acre brush fire burning in a ditch about 100 away from the side of the roadway.
The fire was put out following an aggressive attack by firefighters. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
