Local CHP Looking For A Few Good Women
California Highway Patrol officers are trying to spread the word that they are hiring more than white males.
On the central coast the CHP will be holding a recruitment meeting especially for women next month at Cuesta College.
Diversity has become a bigger issue in the wake of tension between the public and police in Missouri and New York.
Cadets are paid while in the academy in Sacramento.
Once they become officers their starting salary is more than $74,000 a year.
