Father Of Isla Vista Shooting Victim Campaigns For Capps

Richard Martinez said he was wearing his late son’s running shoes and watch as he talked to students at UCSB on Monday. Martinez’ son Christopher was one of the six students killed during the the Isla Vista tragedy in May. Christopher was shot and killed inside the IV Deli Market.

Since then Martinez said school shootings have happened in Washington and other states.

Martinez has visited 11 states to help candidates and causes.

Martinez said he does not want to ban guns, but he wants to keep them out of the hands of dangerous people.

He said California’s new gun restraining order is a step in that direction.

He said what happened to Christopher is unacceptable.

He told students to register to vote and vote for candidates who support common sense guns laws.
