Trial Set for SLO Alleged Torturer
The trial is set for the San Luis Obispo man accused of torturing a woman for nearly three hours.
Timothy Hayes faces serious charges including attempted murder and torture.
If convicted he could face up to life in prison.
During the preliminary hearing last month the 27-year-old whose identity is being protected, said she was tortured for nearly three hours before she escaped Hayes’ home.
On Tuesday Hayes’ entered a not guilty plea in his second arraignment.
His attorney Ilan Funke-Bilu, said , “At trail we intend to present what I think will be very persuasive evidence of his innocence.”
The trial is set for Dec. 22. Hayes remains in custody.
