Beach Memorial Honors 2,977 Killed
UCSB College Republicans spent the morning planting flags in the sand at West Beach in Santa Barbara.
They placed 2,977 flags in the sand in honor of those killed in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
Kevin Ahnert said a Pentagon survivor came to see the memorial and thanked them for putting up the display.
He said it triggered a lot of emotion and memories throughout the day.
