Lost Horse Found on South Oceano Dunes

The Horse Emergency Evacuation Team is looking for the owners of a lost horse found last month.

The animal was discovered running loose on July 25 at 7:30 a.m. on the Arroyo Grande Mesa in the South Oceano dunes.

The horse is a black and white pinto, between 10-12 years old.

Julie Monser, with Horse Emergency Evacuation Team, said,”It’s been well cared for. I’m expecting it turned out to pasture and no one’s aware it has left the pasture. I mean I’m talking a 200-hunred acre pasture, not just a backyard pasture. And maybe someone’s away and they’re on vacation, and they’ve turned it out and maybe just aren’t aware.”

The owner needs to contact Julie Monser with HEET, The Horse Emergency Evacuation Team of SLO County 805-264-3422 or San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department 805-781-4550 and provide proof of ownership.
