Vandenberg Successfully Launches Rocket

A rocket successfully launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 11:15 Thursday night.

Cold temperatures were threatening to delay the launch for most of the day.

The United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is carrying a National Reconnaissance Office payload.

CubeSat Satellites made by Cal Poly students are on the rocket.

The CubeSat is a specially-made box that helps launch the satellites away from the rocket when it enters space.
