McGrath Welcomes Campers Back

McGrath State Beach Park hosts said they welcomed about 55 campers to the park during the last holiday weekend of summer.

Campers couldn’t camp there for months because of a sand bar that caused flooding throughout the park.

The area between the ocean and Harbor Boulevard in Oxnard is known for bird watching.

But for a while it looked like a bird pond.

In July, workers put a pipe in to siphon the water out without harming endangered species.

Portable bathrooms were brought in since camp bathrooms, damaged by water, are still in need of repair.

Recreational vehicles and tent campers didn’t seem to mind.
