Santa Barbara County deals with backlog of work

There’s a backlog of work estimated at nearly $300-million in Santa Barbara County for roads, parks and aging buildings.

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors says it has to find a way to manage the funding for these projects, at a time when it needs millions to make ends meet in other areas.

County budget hearings begin next week.

In the meantime the county is looking at using its staff and some consultants to get a better picture of the needs and solutions.
