Area firefighters offer aid

Ventura County Fire Capt. Mike Lindbery said mutual aid is working.

He said firefighters from Montecito, Carpinteria and Ventura County are fighting the Power House Fire in the Angeles National Forest.

The fire got its name from a power plant near its origin.

The fire has grown to 1,500 acres.

The plume of smoke can be seen for miles.

Lindbery said it is a reminder that fire season is far from over.

He said people need to get prepared.
