Arroyo Grande to host annual Strawberry Fest

Arroyo Grande will be hosting its Strawberry Festival this weekend.

The city is expecting tens of thousands of visitors to attend. The police department will be beefing up patrols. There will also be several road closures and detours to keep traffic running smoothly.

On Friday, May 24th at 4:00 PM, the Centennial Park between Mason, Nelson and Short Streets will be closed through Sunday, May 26th at 6:00 PM.

On Friday, May 24th at 5:00 PM, Olohan Alley between Mason Street and Bridge Street will be closed through Sunday, May 26th at 6:00 PM.

On Friday, May 24th at 10:00 PM, the parking lot north of Branch Street and east of Nevada Street will be closed through Sunday, May 26th at 6:00 PM.

Branch Street will be closed between Traffic Way and Mason Street from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 25th and from 5:00 AM to 6 PM on Sunday, May 26th.

Bridge Street will be closed between Branch Street and Traffic Way from 5:00 AM on Saturday, May 25th to 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 26th. Nelson Street will be closed between Traffic Way and Mason Street from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 25th and 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM Sunday, May 26th.

Branch Mill Road will be closed between Tanner Ln. and Garden St. from 8:00 AM until about 10:00 AM for the annual Strawberry Stampede run.

In the interest of public safety, no vehicles will be permitted to enter the closed areas during the Festival.
