Americans claim top two spots in Stage 4 of Amgen Tour of California
It was still a sweet homecoming even if the end was a little bitter. Former Santa Barbara resident Ken Hanson was just edged out by fellow American Tyler Farrar in Stage4 of the Amgen Tour of California that finished upin Santa Barbara.
Farrar traveled the 83.6 miledistance from Santa Clarita to Santa Barbara in a winning-time of three hours, fourteen minutes and nine seconds.
Hanson, who lived in Santa Barbara for five years and just recently moved to San Diego, held a late lead but was caught with about 50 meters left and settled for second.
Hanson is excited for Thursday’s Stage 5 which begins in Santa Barbara at 11 a.m. and ends in Avila Beach at around 4 p.m. Hanson is a graduate of Cal Poly.
