Hundreds welcome home Westmont Basketball

They are NAIA National Champions but the Westmont women’s basketball team did not expect a homecoming quite like they received on Wednesday afternoon. They were stunned to see so many fans show up to welcome the team back to campus.

Hundreds of students, alumni, faculty and administrators came out to salute the champions. Westmont won it’s first basketball National Championship in school history by beating Lee, Tenn. 71-65 on Tuesday’s final at the National Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky.

After the team arrived by bus from L.A., the celebration continued inside the gym where the team talked about their title run.
