Boat fire looks suspicious

Ventura firefighters fought a suspicious fire ,that destroyed a boat, overnight.

It happened around one a.m. on the 2500 block of Channel Drive. Firefighters said a boat kept inside the gate of a local business went up in smoke. Fire crews kept the fire from spreading to the building and other recreational vehicles kept in the yard.

Now they are trying to find out what sparked the fire. The fire marshal says they eliminate accidental causes before calling a fire suspicious.

Damage to the boat is in the $40,000 range.
