The pilot killed in a Piru plane crash had survived a close call before. FAA Investigators say 59-year-old pilot Michael Boolen of Pacoima was seriously injured in another fatal crash 15 years ago.Boolen and Harry Bell, the 89-year-old owner of the Sting Sport plane from Newhall, died Thursday afternoon.The pair had taken off from Whiteman Airport in Pacoima.The cause of the crash had not been determined.
