Emergency Preparedness Event

GOLETA- Local community leaders say there’s no doubt a major disaster will hit the Central Coast, it’s just a matter of when. On Saturday, local politicians, emergency responders and residents got together to talk disaster preparedness. A few suggestions given at the event were: to have a family disaster plan, make an emergency kit with plenty of water and food, and to learn basic first aid and hand’s only CPR. Officials say residents need to have enough supplies to be on your own for a week, because in major disasters it may take that long to get help.
