Former Alcoholics Anonymous Manager Pleads No Contest

The former office manager for the Santa Barbara Central Office of Alcoholics Anonymous pleaded no contest on Friday to one misdemeanor count of embezzlement.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s office says John Douglas Schlueter made unauthorized credit card charges and other purchases totaling about $9,000. The purchases included computer tablets, projectors, auto repairs, food and gas.

Schlueter agreed to pay back the $9,000 in restitution as part of a plea deal. He will also be placed on three years probation and is not allowed to have any contact with his former employer.
