Grassini wine event sends generous financial boost to Domestic Violence Solutions

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - An all day fundraiser at Grassini Family Vineyards tasting room brought in a record $131,573 for the Domestic Violence Solutions nonprofit.

The event included wine tasting fees, raffle items and on-the-spot donations for the cause.

Grassini then matched the total amount contributed by the guests.

Domestic Violence Solutions had staff on hand to talk about their services along with an information table. Domestic Violence has a 24-hour crisis and information hotline, an emergency response team (DVERT) along with emergency shelter and transitional housing care.

The weekend event is called Grassini Gives Back . Winery owners Larry and Sharon Grassini were on hand along with her daughter and CEO Katie and her husband Dean McMillian.

The tasting room is in the El Paseo courtyard downtown. It was packed with wine lovers and supporters of the charity .
