Annual Festival of Trees enlivens Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center with gift-filled displays

CARPINTERIA, Calif. – The Festival of Trees has commenced at the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center, filling the space with trees adorned by businesses, groups, and organizations in the local community.

Sponsored by the Lions Club, these trees are embellished with various decorations and are surrounded by hundreds of dollars worth of gifts.

Tickets, available for a dollar apiece, can be dropped into designated tubs placed in front of the preferred trees. Winners for each tree will be announced on December 16th at the Arts Center.

Robert Scholl, a Lions Club member, said, "It's about six different local nonprofits each year. We raise funds to help local nonprofits benefit from the trees and the tickets people come in to buy. There's something for any age group, any member of the family would enjoy something from the trees."

The Festival aims to support community initiatives through funds raised by the Lions Club. The proceeds will assist various areas, including the high school 4-H program, the Sober Prom event, and the Alcazar Theatre.

The Festival of Trees is open from 5 to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends at the Carpinteria Arts Center, located at 865 Linden Avenue.
